 Present participle and Past participle
-ing: mang nghĩa chủ động
Ex:
 1. The boy is reading a book. The boy is Ba
 The boy reading a book is Ba
2. The girls are playing chess. They are Nga and Hoa
 The girls playing chess are Nga and Hoa
- ed: mang nghĩa bị động
Cỏch thành lập quỏ khứ phõn từ
Nếu là động từ cú quy tắc ta thờm –ed vào phớa sau, cũn đối với động từ bất quy tắc, ta tra ở cột 3 trong 
bảng động từ bất quy tắc.
1. The old lamp is made in China. The old lamp is five dollars.
 The old lamp made in China is five dollars.
2. The toys are kept in a cardboard box. They are ten dollars.
 The toys kept in a cardboard box are ten dollars.
3. The toy car is recycled from junk cans. It is two dollars.
 The toy car recycled from junk cans is two dollars.
* Chỳng ta dựng cấu trỳc:
1. - Do you mind if I + V (simple present)...?
 - Would you mind if I + V (simple past)...?
Để xin phộp khi chỳng ta muốn làm việc gỡ một cỏch lịch sự, cấu trỳc này cú nghĩa là: “Tụi (làm gỡ) cú 
được khụng?/ Nếu tụi (làm gỡ) cú phiền anh (chị/ bạn) khụng?” Nếu 
Ex: Do you mind if I close the window?
 Would you mind if I closed the window?
* Khi yờu cầu/ đề nghị ai làm điều gỡ một cỏch lịch sự, chỳng ta dựng cấu trỳc:
2. Do/ Would you mind + V-ing...? (Bạn làm ơn (làm) giỳp tụi (điều gỡ) được khụng?)
Ex: Do you mind if I closing the window?
 Would you mind if I closing the window?
